Ubuntu (ùbúntú): a South African ethic or ideology focusing on people's allegiances and relations with each other. Rough translation in English: "humanity towards others" .... "I am because we are." ... "The belief in a universal bond of sharing that connects all humanity." This is our journey to discover what the word truly means - to live it, experience it and then share it.

Fundisa Isizwe

In partnership with Mission to Southern Africa and A.C.E., the Fundisa Isizwe (Zulu for "Teach the Nation") has been introduced as a way to provide excellence in education to disadvantaged areas in Africa through Christian Education. The goal is to impact communities across Africa using quality, affordable education, and to reach one million children in Africa by July 2007.

This initiative targets unreached children through the such educational programs as:

- Early Childhood Development (Preschool)
- Basic Literacy (teaching adults/kids to read and write)
- Providing quality, affordable educational materials for community serving formal schools

We are working with MSA and it's Siyakhula (Fundisa Isizwe) pre-school with over 120 children in the Waterloo community. Through past support, MSA has been able to provide materials, teacher training, and assistance with the school building project. The community and parents of the children have been blessed by the school and are giving back by volunteering their time and labor to assist in the building project. The school still needs paiting, a play ground, fencing for protection, and more. As we continue working with the school we will post more of the schools needs on this site. If you would like to help in any way please email us at jesse.christy@gmail.com and check out the MSA website when you can.
